Ready to change your life?

A dental implant is a small biocompatible post placed in your jawbone that takes over the job of a missing tooth’s root and holds a crown, bridge, or denture securely in place. If you are living with missing or damaged teeth, the gap affects more than a photograph. It changes how you chew, how you sound, and how often you decide to smile at all.

Our Irving dental implants restore a single gap or an entire arch, rebuilding the tooth from the root up. We design and personalize each implant restoration so it suits your face and your bite, not a stock shade guide.

Replace one tooth or all

Single Tooth Implants

If you’re missing a single tooth, a dental implant offers a long-lasting and natural-looking solution. The implant integrates with your jawbone, acting as a strong foundation for a custom crown that blends with your other teeth. Because the post carries the bite force on its own, the healthy teeth on either side of the gap stay untouched, which is the practical advantage over a traditional bridge.

Several Teeth in a Row

A longer gap does not always need one implant per missing tooth. Two or three posts can carry a fixed bridge across the span, which keeps the restoration stable while limiting the number of sites your jaw has to heal.

All-on-X Implants

For patients missing most or all of their teeth, All-on-X implants provide a complete restoration using four strategically placed implants. This method offers full-arch replacement with fewer implants, giving you a secure and beautiful new smile without the hassle of dentures. The prosthesis is fixed, so it stays put overnight and never depends on suction or adhesive. If you would rather have something you can take out to clean, an implant-retained denture snaps onto a smaller number of posts and keeps much of the same stability.

Choosing between an implant, a bridge, and a denture

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth, while a bridge or a denture only replaces the part that shows above the gum. That single difference drives most of what follows.

  • Dental implant: stands on its own in the bone, so neighboring teeth are never reshaped and the jaw keeps getting the pressure it needs to hold its shape.
  • Fixed bridge: anchors to the teeth on either side of the gap, which means those teeth are prepared and then permanently carry the load for the missing one.
  • Partial denture: removable and the least involved option to start, though a partial rests on the gums and needs adjusting as the ridge underneath changes.
  • Full denture: replaces a whole arch without surgery, but nothing anchors it to bone, so the fit tends to loosen as the ridge shrinks.

No option is automatically correct. Bone volume, the condition of the teeth beside the gap, your medical history, and your budget all pull the decision in different directions, so we lay the trade-offs out before you commit to any of them.

Do you need a bone graft before Irving dental implants?

A bone graft is only necessary when the jawbone at the implant site has thinned too much to hold a post securely, and imaging tells us that long before a plan is finalized. Bone shrinks once a tooth is gone because nothing is loading it anymore, which is why the question comes up more often for gaps that have been there a while.

We offer bone grafting at Erickson Dental and work with both synthetic and bovine graft materials, matched to what the site needs.

Socket Preservation

Most patients meet grafting in its simplest form. When a tooth has to be removed, we can place graft material into the empty socket the same day, which holds the ridge shape while it heals and often means far less rebuilding later. If you already know a tooth is failing, this is worth raising before the extraction rather than after it.

What Grafting Adds to Your Timeline

Grafted bone needs time to mature before an implant can anchor into it, so this step stretches the calendar rather than complicating the treatment. We tell you upfront whether your plan includes it, because it changes both the sequence and the estimate.

How much do dental implants cost in Irving?

There is no flat price for dental implants, because the cost tracks how many teeth you are replacing, what has to happen at the site first, and which restoration goes on top. Rather than quote you an average that may have nothing to do with your mouth, we give you a written estimate built from your own imaging.

  • How many teeth: one implant with a crown sits at one end of the scale and a full arch carried by several implants sits at the other.
  • What the site needs first: an extraction, socket preservation, or a bone graft adds appointments and materials ahead of placement.
  • The restoration on top: a single crown, a fixed implant bridge, and an implant-retained denture each call for different amounts of lab work and material.
  • Your benefits: we are out of network with every plan, so what a PPO contributes toward implant treatment varies from policy to policy.

Your implant consultation is complimentary. It covers an exam and the imaging we need to plan the case, including CBCT scanning and digital planning, so the estimate reflects your actual bone and bite. You also see what your plan may cover alongside the private-pay portion before anything is scheduled, and nothing about that estimate commits you to starting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are dental implants?

Whether you’ve lost a tooth due to disease, injury, or extraction, a dental implant fills the gap and restores your smile. This highly sophisticated medical-grade device is made of strong and resistant biocompatible materials. The implant is placed in the bone structure under your gums, taking the place of your tooth’s root. This process strengthens your jawbone and provides a stable foundation for the visible portion of your implant — usually an implant crown, dental bridge, or retained denture.

Are dental implants right for you?

  • You hate wearing slippery, uncomfortable dentures
  • You’ve lost a few teeth and it’s difficult to chew
  • You’re embarrassed to smile

K

How many teeth can be replaced with dental implants?

Dental implants can replace a single tooth or the entire arch of missing teeth.
K
L

Will I need a bone graft?

You may need a bone graft if your jawbone has deteriorated or is too thin to support a dental implant. A bone graft helps strengthen your jawbone and provides a solid foundation for the implant.
K
L

How long does implant treatment take from start to finish?

Implant treatment usually runs across several months rather than a single appointment, because the post needs time to fuse with your bone before the final crown or bridge is attached. Removing a tooth or grafting the site first adds healing time ahead of placement. We map the whole sequence out at your consultation so you know what the calendar looks like before you begin.
K
L

How long do Irving dental implants last?

The post itself is meant to stay in the bone permanently once it has integrated, which is what separates an implant from other tooth replacement options. The crown or bridge on top wears like any restoration and may eventually need replacing, and that is precisely why we use high-quality materials and trusted labs for the visible part.

Does dental insurance cover implants?

Coverage varies widely, and plans often treat implants differently from other restorative work. We are an out-of-network provider that welcomes PPO plans and files claims on your behalf, and your written estimate spells out what your plan may cover alongside what you would pay directly.

What is recovery like after implant treatment?

Are dental implants noticeable?

Our implant restorations are designed to look and feel like your natural teeth and are virtually indistinguishable in appearance.
